Ethical Practice Discussion Group
Learn with peers to apply ethics to real world scenarios
Service Description
Ethical discussion groups (EDG's) are designed to foster a space of community, trust, and collaboration. Ethics are a multi-sided complex aspect of interpreting work that we face on a daily basis. EDGs are an opportunity for interpreters to cross collaborate from a variety of specialties and provide a space for sharing and collaboration in an often isolated field. In each session we will discuss scenarios from participants in order to better understand ethical decisions that we have made and how to improve our practices for future work. This event is primarily designed for certified interpreters, pre-certified interpreters, and interpreting students. To request accommodations please contact miridPD@gmail.com two weeks prior to the date of the event. Michigan Medicine Interpreter Services is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for continuing education activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for 0.2 CEUs at the Little/None Content Knowledge Level. Michigan RID shall not discriminate on the basis of age, color, creed, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, hearing status, national origin, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.
